Kirlangic Cigligi

"One balmy day, a dead body is found in an Istanbul playground. The victim has been left sitting upright at the foot of a slide, having received a single bullet to the back of the head. Between his feet rests a Barbie doll. When Captain Nevzat arrives at the scene, he is shocked to see the victim is the man who molested his daughter Aysun. He’d been taken into custody but released due to lack of evidence. Initial investigations reveal that a decade earlier a serial killer nicknamed the “Toy Man” killed twelve child molesters, executing each with a 38-milimeter pistol and leaving toys at the scene. Captain Nevzat believes the Toy Man has stirred from his ten-year slumber and begun killing again. Yet, they notice a small change: In the previous killings, the shell casing and bullet were left behind, while neither is to be found in the recent crime scenes. Putting all the pieces together leads Nevzat and his team to the Syrian refugee community. They witness the suffering of people forced from their homeland by war. Defenseless people are bought and sold like cattle. Wealthy families from Europe, Israel, and South Africa flock to Istanbul to purchase the vital organs of desperate Syrians who put them on them on the market for their family’s survival."
