I Am Malala

Malala says: ‘To be a Pashtun is to be a symbol for benevolence.’ She insists on not wearing the khimar, for her face is her identity. She also says, in a world filled with patriarchs: ‘To be a female who is “daddy’s girl” is quite rare in Pakistan”! Malala takes us on a journey through the era when Taliban ruled, where ignorance and child labour spread and where many things like music, female education, and shaving for men are considered blasphemous and taboos. And what we learn from Malala’s assassination attempt is that whoever tries to apply any structure of reform will inevitably die. However, there’s some sort of miracle, because sometimes a bullet is fired towards you to shut you up but in return millions of people end up hearing you!
